We are seeking someone to take on the role of Chair of Governors at this well-regarded, community-centred Church of England Primary School in the Fulflood area of Winchester. The school has an existing supportive and committed governing body and strong links to the local parish church.
Interested individuals who would ideally have some experience of governance in an education setting are invited to contact us for a no commitment discussion.
Governing Body meetings are held at the school each half term, typically for 2 hours in the early evening. In addition there are two sub-committees (covering Resources & Personnel and Curriculum & Community) which the Chair can attend if desired.
The role would involve regular liaison with the Headteacher either in person or remotely and occasional visits to the school.
While a background in education is not necessarily required, some experience of school governance would be useful. The role is supported by a committed and active team of Governors who between them possess a range of valuable skills.
