This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the everyday lives of our lovely, often funny, always interesting residents. All of our residents have different personalities and needs. One may just need someone patient and calm to chat to. Some may want to be read to, or to play games or do puzzles, depending on what they fancy at the time. Some would love to do some basic art and craft, or sing or listen to music. Some would love someone to paint their nails, do their hair and get ready for painting the town (or at least the home) red. Some would love some company doing a bit of light gardening with them.

We are looking for people who are friendly, open minded and willing to learn some new skills. The role of Befriender makes a huge difference to the quality of life for our residents and we can guarantee that there is always plenty to do, so you won't get bored. It is also a great opportunity to bring some new skills or talent into our home.

What skills do I need?

• Caring and empathetic
• Patient and caring
• A good listener

Although experience with older people with dementia or nursing needs would be useful, it is not vital as we will give you training, guidance and be there to support you.
