On Sunday, 6 December 2026, we are holding our Christmas party for the families we support at Cowdray Hall, West Thurrock, and we would love your help to make it a warm, joyful day. We need volunteers to help set up the hall, serve food, and clean up afterwards. Volunteers serving food must hold a current Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum Level 2). Set-up and clean-up helpers do not need a certificate. Anyone is welcome to volunteer with us, whatever their background, as long as they share our respect for the positive representation of the Black community.

What skills do I need?

Essential:

  • Food servers only: current Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum Level 2)
  • Respect for the positive representation of the Black community
  • Reliable, friendly and comfortable in a busy family setting with children present

Desirable:

  • Previous experience volunteering at community events
  • Experience of serving food or catering
