and award winning visitor attraction, Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is a
charity and the largest
surviving Great War aerodrome in Europe.
With the assistance of over 100 volunteers, we deliver a wide range of educational
and fundraising events each year that are designed to appeal to families,
aviation enthusiasts, historians, school parties and other youth groups.
We also open to the public most weekends, throughout the year.
This year, as a part of our new exhibition, Feeding the Nation, we are planting Heritage fruit and vegetable varieties that will become a part of our “field to fork” education programme for schools, as well menu items in our café.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help set up and maintain the plant beds including digging, planting, watering, general maintenance and harvesting.
You do not need a horticultural background as training can be given although some experience of maintaining a garden or allotment would be helpful.

For this role, the site is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year.
Volunteers are asked to attend regularly on either one or both days.
Half day and full day working is available.
Please note that personal transport is required to travel to site as we are not on any public transport routes.
