Help Jumbulance reach more catholic churches and communities in Essex, so that disabled and seriously ill people can experience a life‑changing supported pilgrimage to Lourdes. As an Outreach Volunteer, you’ll raise awareness, help recruit volunteers, and connect parishes with opportunities to travel. This flexible, self‑managed role lets you make a meaningful impact while using your communication skills to support a compassionate, mission‑driven charity.
What you will do:
Research and create a list of Catholic churches, parish offices, diocesan contacts, and relevant ministries within assigned areas.
Make initial contact via email or telephone to introduce Jumbulance and explain the purpose of the outreach.
Ask parishes to promote Lourdes pilgrimage opportunities in their communities and newsletters and bulletins.
Maintain a simple contact log in Excel recording who has been contacted and any follow up needed.
Send out approved Jumbulance promotional materials, ensuring messaging remains consistent and accurate.
Confident and friendly communicator by phone and email
Comfortable speaking with parish administrators, priests, and volunteers.
Well organised, with an ability to maintain accurate records.
Respectful of faith based environments and sensitive to parish culture.
Able to work independently and follow guidance on approved messaging.
Basic IT skills (email, Word/Excel, or similar).
Access to your own laptop/PC and phone
This opportunity is available Countywide.
