To attend play sessions for children with additional needs and their siblings on either Tuesday afternoons or Friday mornings in Twickenham or Wednesday or Thursday afternoons in Hounslow

To help set up and clear away the toys

To play with the children with a variety of toys including in our outside play area

To ensure the safety of any child they are playing with, both indoors and outdoors

To ensure children play and interact with peers and adults in a safe and caring environment

To make tea or coffee for parents / carers and chat with them as appropriate

To help to organise the children for activities such as music sessions and to participate with the children in these

To learn to use basic Makaton sign language as appropriate

To attend training organised by Skylarks on policies and procedures, and on health and safety, safeguarding and disability awareness

To help with recording numbers of attendees and other admin tasks if required

To maintain confidentiality

What skills do I need?

A willingness to develop an understanding and sensitive approach towards the needs and challenges faced by young people with disabilities and their families/carers

A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

A commitment to the aims and ethos of Skylarks 

And most importantly, the willingness to be friendly, talk to people, play with children and make cups of tea!

A commitment to supporting the disability and additional needs community with whom we identify and support.
