Brighton & Hove Arts Council (BHAC) is a charity run entirely by volunteers, all interested in the arts and with a shared commitment to support our not-for-profit arts groups members who provide a wealth of entertainment and enjoyment to the local community. We cover all arts areas including visual arts, music, drama, dance, spoken and written word. Our Facebook and Instagram accounts are used by people all over the area to find out what is on in the arts area and to seek out arts groups to join. They are also used by our not-for-profit arts organisation members to post their activities, as well as promoting BHAC activities. Each year we run an art exhibition, drama competition, an Outstanding Contribution to the Arts award and every two years a poetry competition and festival.

Benefits

  • You would be playing a vital role in enabling BHAC to further enrich the arts in the local community.

  • You would be joining an enthusiastic group of people supporting the local arts in all their forms.

  • You would also be invited to our prestigious Spring Art Show Private View, Autumn Drama Awards Ceremony and the biennial Poetry Festival.

Practical Considerations

  • There are no fixed hours. All that will be required, will be a few hours a week working from home.

  • Attendance at some of the committee meetings (around 6-8 meetings per year) would be an advantage, but they are not dull!

  • Meetings are held in the early evening, in Brighton, around 6-8 times a year.
