Rottingdean Whiteway Centre is a community centre providing a range of educational and leisure courses, talks and activities. The charity was established in 1974 and is run by a Management Committee of volunteers. Courses are led by paid tutors.
The role of the Building Manager is to liaise with the centre’s Bursar, and other committee members, to arrange any repairs, maintenance or improvements to our building, usually carried out by a range of subcontractors. The role is a member of the committee.
Ensure the building and its services comply with the appropriate legislation.
This involves, on average, one visit to the centre each week.
In addition, throughout the year there are ten monthly Management Committee meetings where volunteers meet and share information about their respective activities.
The Whiteway Centre is off the Green in Rottingdean and is on the number 2 bus route and five minutes walk from the 12, 14 and 12 and 27 bus routes.
There is car parking.
The Committee meetings are held at the centre in the evenings.
