Do you love a good chat over a cuppa? Then you'd make a wonderful Tea Party Host!

Our monthly tea parties are a lifeline for people aged 75 and over who feel cut off from their community. An afternoon of tea, cake and conversation can make the world of difference - and that's where you come in.

As a volunteer host, you'll open your home (or a local community space) once or twice a year to welcome a small group of local people - usually between 4-12, including older people, volunteer drivers and a group coordinator.

If you can offer a warm smile, a welcoming space and the ability to put the kettle on, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefits

  • Make a real difference and brighten someone's day
  • Enjoy heart-warming conversations and build new friendships
  • It's a small commitment that has a big impact - plus we'll give you lots of support and encouragement.

What skills do I need?

We're looking for friendly, welcoming people who enjoy chatting and making others feel at home.  You'll need to be:

  • Organised - able to plan a relaxed get-together and make sure everyone feels included
  • A good conversationalist - someone who loves hearing people's stories and maybe sharing a few of your own
  • Patient and empathetic - understanding that some guests may need a little extra time and support
  • For everyone's comfort and safety, your home should have easy access and a downstairs toilet available for guests.

Location

This opportunity can be carried out whilst working from home.
