The Hangleton and Knoll 50+ Steering Group is looking for new committee members, with a variety of volunteering roles available depending on your skills and interests.
About Us
The Hangleton and Knoll 50+ Steering Group is a resident-led group of volunteers, supported by the Hangleton and Knoll Project. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of residents aged 50 and over by tackling social isolation, supporting new interests, and ensuring older people have a voice in the community.
The Hangleton and Knoll 50+ Steering Group is looking for new committee members, with a variety of volunteering roles available.
Role could involve;
- Visiting community groups to promote our activities
- Distributing our posters and flyers at local shops, libraries, community centres etc.
- Setting up a Facebook Page and Posting updates and news on Facebook
- Working as part of a team to organise activities, trips and events.
Skills and experience required (variable depending on interest);
- Supporting and/or working with older people
- Enjoying meeting people, talking and connecting with others in the community
- Social media and communications
- Organisational and event planning skills.
Commitment requirements;
- Time commitment variable depending on activities you get involved with and your availability
- Availability to attending 1hour monthly Committee meetings where possible to discuss projects, activities and make decisions.
