We are looking to recruit students aged 18–25, as well as individuals who have recently graduated. The role: As a Recovery Support Volunteer, you will assist the team to provide frontline support to individuals throughout their recovery journey, assisting with assessments, treatment management and referrals. You will offer emotional and practical support, promote harm reduction and help clients engage with services, working collaboratively with the team to improve wellbeing and recovery outcomes.

What skills do I need?

• Good understanding of drug and alcohol issues • Be professional in your approach and conduct • Be willing to learn new skills from the Team • Be able to work within, and as part of the various teams (as directed by the team)- using own initiative while also following direction • Good written and verbal communication skills • Confident IT skills- aside from any IT skills required for the role, some of our mandatory training is done online through eLearning modules • Non-judgemental and patient towards people with lived experience • Have confidence in approaching and talking to people (individually and as a group)

This role offers some flexibility depending on the volunteer’s availability. Ideally, we require volunteers to support our team one day per week, from 9:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
