As a volunteer at Horton your upcycling skills will be used fully giving you an excellent experience as well helping others – you will certainly develop other skills. Volunteering or working here can be uplifting and very rewarding. You will be in a friendly atmosphere, surrounded by individuals who care, whilst doing challenging things or basic tasks. All the furniture upcycled will be distributed to Horton clients who are signing a new tenancy and have little or no furniture.
What skills do I need?
1. To have some upcycling experience 2. To have an interest of Refurbishment based projects 3. Ability to maintain professional boundaries 4. Effectively teaching others to do something, sometimes one-on-one 5. Compassionate, patient and empathetic 6. Be reliable and non-judgemental. 7. Ability to use own initiative but be able to ask for help when required
