This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to regularly support a lively and creative group in practical ways, over a period of time. We need ongoing assistance with setting up (including tables, chairs, tea/coffee station and art materials), clearing away (including washing up) and making sure we have what we need. Our last volunteer stayed for 3 years and recently left to train as an Occupational Therapist - in some part thanks to her experience with us and we are very proud of her.

What skills do I need?

We are a friendly and diverse group of people who have all survived stroke. You need to be friendly too, non-judgmental, willing to help without patronising, and above all - reliable. This role has the potential to grow depending on what a volunteer brings. You do not have to be an expert, but an active interest in art and crafts is a must. Confidence and competence using social media (Facebook) would be a bonus but is not essential.
