It’s not just about reducing flood risk.  Conserving our rivers is crucial for the health of wildlife and people.  Our conservation days offer plenty of benefits for everyone involved and for improved water quality, better habitats for wildlife and increased carbon storage. How do we do it?

Between November and March we're planting trees and hedgerows which helps to disrupt the path of water as it flows into the river, slowing it down. Leaves and twigs break down in the soil to form organic matter, which holds water like a sponge.

Through the year we are undertaking wildlife surveys in the catchment rivers and on the Wyre estuary

Are you interested / experienced in engagement and education?  We work in the community: with schools, delivering public events and shows to raise learning and awareness about our conservation work.

As our river conservation work changes and grows there are always opportunities arising and for you to become involved in.

What skills do I need?

Ideally used to handling and using small hand tools.

We work together to achieve great changes so communication and team work skills are ideal for this opportunity.
