Our Youth Club helps young people with complex medical needs and/or special educational needs to build confidence and develop independence and life skills. The Youth Club volunteer will help the Activity Leads deliver our youth club for these young people and their siblings.
What will you do?:
- Assist with various sports and leisure activities (e.g. table tennis, bowling, climbing), supporting the young people attending the club to participate
- Support young people 1:1 or in small groups
- Help set up and clear away at the beginning and end of the sessions
- Participate in a briefing and de-briefing session before and after the club to help evaluate the skills, strengths and weaknesses of the young people after each session
- Help with any special projects the young people would like to do
- Attend initial training (2 hours)
- Attend a 1 hour supervision monthly meeting
- Liaise with the Youth club Lead in case of questions/difficulties - Follow The Maypole Project policies and guidelines at all times whilst volunteering

Our Youth Club takes place on Thursdays 5:45pm - 7:00pm alternating between a venue in Beckenham and going on an outing around the South East/London during term-time. Ideally we are looking for volunteers who are interested in volunteering every week.
