Role Summary:

Staff Wellbeing Trolley volunteers support the wellbeing and morale of hospital staff by delivering a mobile refreshment trolley throughout the hospital. The role involves providing refreshments, such as tea, coffee and biscuits, to staff working in areas including the Adult and Paediatric Emergency Departments, Maternity Services and Elderly Care wards.

As a Wellbeing Trolley volunteer you will:

• Set up the trolley ensuring enough stock and filling the hot water flasks • Take trolley to required wards/areas for tea, coffee, biscuits etc • Restock trolley • Keep the trolley tidy, clean and organised • Check the stock best before dates and report near dates to the supervisor • Inform the supervisor if more stock is needed

Training (online) - support from the Voluntary Services team if required

• Trust Statutory and Mandatory Training (eLearning) • Health and Safety • Fire Safety • Moving and Handling - Non-Clinical • Safeguarding Children and Young People- Level 1 • Safeguarding Adults- Level 1 • Infection Control Non-Clinical • Information Governance (Data Security Awareness Level 1) • Conflict Resolution • Speaking up and Raising Concerns • Equality and Diversity • Oliver McGowan Tier 1 • Prevent Awareness Level 1 & Level 2 • Welcome Induction and Introduction to the Vision and Values of the Trust • Induction and role-specific guidance will be provided • Training in all trolley procedures and activities

Dress Code:

Volunteer polo shirt must be worn at all times.

A copy of the Dress Code is available in the Voluntary Services Department.

Clinical areas have a specific dress code standard and must be followed. These include:

• Arms must be bare below the elbows • No acrylic or false nails • No nail varnish • No dangling earrings or loose jewellery • No headwear unless required for medical or religious reasons • Long hair must be tied back at all times. • Flat, comfortable shoes (no open toe)

Prior to commencing your volunteering role, you will be required to read and sign both a Confidentiality Agreement and a Volunteer Agreement.

Volunteers under the age of 18 will also be required to read and sign a Risk Assessment before commencing their role.

• Friendly and approachable manner • Have a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to relate to people of all ages and from a diverse background • Understanding of confidentiality • Reliable and punctual • Ability to volunteer under pressure, in a busy environment and use initiative • Are reliable and able to follow guidance and instructions • Can volunteer independently or as part of a small team • Are mindful of health and safety requirements • Able to push trolley around the site and serve tea and coffee
