There are lots of ways you can volunteer with us, using your skills and/or developing new ones. You will be supporting people with learning disabilities and people with autism. Volunteering can give you the opportunity to combine essential skills and it also looks great on your CV.

Volunteering is proven to improve wellbeing and help people flourish in sometimes unexpected ways. You might make new friends, boost confidence, self-esteem and your mental health.

We are seeking volunteers who would like to support a small, dynamic, and lovely team with a great vision and passion for what we do. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, enjoy keeping fit and are willing to support our members with getting the most out of our Living Active Project. Your main activities within this role would be to support our walking, football, basketball, badminton and spectrum sports groups. We are flexible with which groups/activities you would like to support, but we would ideally like someone who would be happy to support any or all of our sports activities.

There will also be opportunities to support people 1-to-1 to ensure that there is an inclusive environment and that they are enjoying being part of the group.

What skills do I need?

Our volunteers would ideally have:

• Passion for sports and physical activities • Positive and can-do attitude • Lovely communication skills • Great observation and encouragement • Creativity and Adaptability • Passion for supporting people with LD and Autism.

You can learn new skills too as our volunteer roles can give you a wide range of skills and experience. You could learn:

• Time management • Leadership and teamwork • Problem-solving • Good organisational skills • Personal Growth and Development • Other interpersonal skills.

If you have a specific skill you want to develop or would like to gain experience in a particular area, please let us know and we can find out which volunteer role might suit you best.
