If you've got a caring nature and want to help your community then we'd love to hear from you at L'Arche.
We home and care for adults with learning disabilities and we're looking for people that can offer their time to help improve the lives of others. There's a huge range of ways you can offer to help, whether it's a simple cup of tea and a chat providing companionship or assisting/leading an arts, dance, choir or drama session, or even simply driving someone to the shops or joining them down the pub.
Gardening, baking, craft, music (choir/ukulele band/jam session) drama, reading together, walking, driving a community vehicle, coffee morning preparation, administration, meditation/prayer, going to church.
What skills do I need?
- You need to be someone with an open mind, patient and willing to learn alongside our members.
- It is important that you can operate relatively independently and understand your own limitations.
- You will receive relevant training and support.
- Above all an openness to joy and friendship is what is needed.
