We is a long-established, community-based charity operating from the historic Chichester Boys’ Club building, proudly serving young people and the wider community since 1922. We provide safe, inclusive spaces and positive activities that support children, young people, and adults to thrive socially, emotionally, and physically, particularly those from disadvantaged or socially isolated backgrounds.

As we look ahead, a number of Trustee vacancies are coming up, and we are keen to welcome new Trustees to join our committed and supportive Board.

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of a respected local charity and make a meaningful difference in the community.

Why Become a Trustee?

As a Trustee at CBC, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the charity, support strong governance and sustainability, and work collaboratively with fellow Trustees who bring passion, experience, and local knowledge.

No previous trustee experience is required, as full induction and support will be provided.

Our Commitment to Trustees CBC is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive Board culture, a clear induction process, shared leadership, and reimbursement of reasonable out-of-pocket expenses. Interested?

If you would like to find out more about becoming a Trustee at CBC, or would welcome an informal conversation before making any commitment, we would love to hear from you.

Together, we can help ensure CBC continues serving young people and the community for generations to come.

What skills do I need?

Our existing Trustees bring a strong mix of skills and commitment.

We are particularly interested in adding to this expertise and welcome interest from individuals with knowledge or experience in areas such as:

  • Fundraising and income generation
  • Finance, accounting, or budgeting
  • Human Resources or people management
  • Legal, governance, or compliance
  • Property, buildings, or facilities management
  • Marketing, communications, or digital skills
  • Community engagement, partnerships, or business development
  • Experience of working with young people, families, or community services
